How It Works
1) Scan
Collect Data
Use your scanner on fauna in safe conditions. Different creatures emphasize different survival traits.
- Scan often during early exploration
- Prioritize creatures in biomes you visit repeatedly
2) Extract
Unlock Traits
Traits become options you can slot into your build. Think of them as underwater “perks”.
- Pick traits that fix your weakest link (air, speed, temperature)
- Don’t over-commit to one stat too early
3) Modify
Create Synergy
Power comes from combinations: mobility + stealth, or depth + oxygen efficiency, etc.
- Plan for the biome you’re entering next
- Keep a “safe explorer” preset for unknown zones
Strong Early Trait Priorities
Exploration Build (Safe Progress)
- Oxygen efficiency / slower consumption
- Swim speed + acceleration
- Reduced noise / lower detection chance
- Heat and cold resistance (biome dependent)
Risk Build (Leviathan Zones)
- Short burst speed (escape window)
- Damage reduction / impact mitigation
- Stamina/endurance for long chases
- Optional: defensive utility for “must-pass” routes
